Petersham RSL Club has long been a supporter of the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club
which is celebrating the fact that they now have four players from 1st Grade currently playing for the State Speedblitz Blues, more than from any other club. Their reps are opening bat and captain of the Blues, Simon Katich, spinner Nathan Hauritz, batsman Usman Khawaja and fast bowler Burt Cockley. Cockley was further upgraded recently to join the Australian squad for the one day series against India which Australia won.
Randwick Petersham cricket is playing with pink stumps this year. The club decided to add a bit of colour to the all white clothing and the players reckon that being so bright, they're easier to hit when trying for a run out! There's no evidence so far however that the number of direct hits has gone up. Pink cricket stumps are all the rage!
